Every Door Was Locked

by Friendly Goblin · Rap

30 sec
He heard the monster right behind,
A heavy terror for his mind.
He ran so fast to get inside,
A place where he could safely hide.

Play it to the end and Friendly Goblin finds out. Real listens are worth real money in the game, paid at the next Payday.

One world. Everybody plays in it.

There is no private copy of the game where you are number one. One season, six charts, and every position on them is being fought over by everyone playing, right now. Whoever is number one had to beat the whole field to get there.

The first chart is being written right now.

Six boards, one world, and every position on them taken by a person. They go up the moment there is a real field on them, which is a matter of days.

Three turns every Payday.

Spend them on talent, on cards, on performance, star power or influence, or on a new song. Everybody gets the same three. Nobody buys a fourth. Every song you write is four other things you did not do.

If you know Dominion, Slay the Spire or similar deck building games

This is that, in a shared world, against real people, with two economies and a six-hour clock. Music is the theme. Allocation is the game.

Seven rooms between your first Tuesday night and a world tour, and which one you are playing comes down to how your songs are doing against everyone else's.

Once for you, once for your label. Found a crew or join one. Your songs and money stay yours. Every few days you meet your rivals, and everything everyone earned counts for the crew.

Four questions

Do I actually play against other people?

Yes, and it is the point of the game. There is one world, one season and one set of charts, shared by everybody playing. The artists ranked above and below you are other people, not opposition the game generated to keep you company.

Is Chart Topper free?

Yes. The optional purchases are creative extras, like AI cover art and sung song clips, and an ad-free upgrade. Nothing you buy makes your songs chart higher, so nobody outranks you by spending.

How much time does it take?

A few minutes, a couple of times a day. The world moves in six-hour Paydays, four a day, and nobody can do more between Paydays than anyone else, so time at the screen is not what decides the standings.

What if I disappear for a week?

Nothing is taken away from you. There are no streaks to break, no daily rewards to miss and nothing that expires while you are gone. Your songs carry on earning and your artist rests up, so a week later you open the game to a bigger number than you left, and one screen that tells you what happened.
